1989 Mercedes Benz 500 sec is a documentary series focusses on the small unwritten community surrounding my fathers car. This series was shot on large format colour film. This concludes some of the ‘members’ of the community surrounding the car. Simple portraits, faces, cars, interior, they all document a small community that until now was never thought about in that way. My father’s car will always be worth more than a pound sign – it has history, a community. To dive deep into something so small is incredibly fascinating. To learn small details about why and what people have to say about this small community fills the project with curiosity. Being part of a community is a sense of belonging.
